Homeschool Celebration “Under the Dome”

Wednesday February 6, 2008

The annual Homeschool Day at the Capitol Event is sponsored by the Christian Homeschool Network. The purpose of this annual event is twofold, to show our appreciation of the hard work of the legislature and show support for homeschooling.

Join us “Under the Dome” for a special presentation, words of encouragement and information, meet with your legislators, and tour the capitol.

Plan to set aside some time to thank the hard-working men and women of the legislature.  They enact laws that impact our families and our future. Homeschool laws can have a more direct effect on our families than any other legislation.  It is important for us to share how much we value the freedom they have helped us to preserve.

Come to Olympia and let our voices be heard!

Agenda

Pre-registration packet (PDF) for easy printing

A note to attendees:

Space at the Capitol is very limited, you will need to pre-register for this event.   CHN will schedule tours of the capitol on a first come first serve basis.

CHN does not schedule meetings with your legislator.  If you want to meet with your legislators, you will need to schedule a meeting with their office. The state legislative web site has contact information on your legislators at http://www1.leg.wa.gov/legislature

Meetings with legislators generally last about fifteen minutes. Legislators are always happy to meet the whole family, so bring your well-behaved children. Share with them how much you enjoy the freedom to home educate and how home education has had a positive impact on you and your family. They appreciate thank you cards or notes of encouragement and homemade treats (hint, hint). CHN will provide you with a legislative overview in the information packet available to attendees who have pre-registered. This overview will help you to prepare for your meeting and update you on the current issues and their status.

NOTE: If you are planning to bring a large group and would like assistance please e-mail us at chnow@msn.com and we will try to accommodate you.
