Olympia 101: Citizen Orientation Training

Olympia 101 is the Family Policy Institute of Washington (FPIW) signature citizen orientation training to inform, equip and mobilize ordinary citizens for purposeful, authentic, and effective action in support of good public policy in Washington State. Olympia 101 accomplishes this by offering citizens the opportunity to learn about their state government through a unique, on-site, real-time, dynamic experience that uses the Capitol Campus as its “classroom.” We look forward to your participation, too!

  • Choose to attend either the 8:30am–11:45am or 1:15pm–4:30pm session.

2020 Homeschool Day at the Capitol

TUESDAY, MARCH 10, 2020 | STATE CAPITOL, COLUMBIA ROOM, OLYMPIA, WA

ATTEND!  THIS IS OUR ANNUAL OPPORTUNITY:

  • To publicly honor the men and women who serve in our state government—as we “Celebrate Under the Dome” and as we bless them each with our Homemade Apple Pies.
  • To introduce them to real homeschoolers who represent the larger homeschool community.
  • To visit with your legislators and their staff in their offices.
  • And to express to them our gratitude for maintaining and protecting the existing WA State Homeschool Law.

REMEMBER!  To also CONSISTENTLY, CLEARLY, and GRACIOUSLY communicate that:

  • HOMESCHOOLERS WANT NOTHING FROM OUR LEGISLATORS: No money, no benefits, nothing …
  • EXCEPT THEIR COMMITMENT TO PRESERVE OUR HOMESCHOOL LAW, exactly as is, WITHOUT ALTERATIONS OF ANY KIND.

AND BEWARE!  THERE’S NO SUCH THING AS A FREE LUNCH!

  • Any change in homeschool law—even ones that might appear beneficial—
  • Would have a direct and, almost certainly, negative effect on our families,
  • And on our current freedom to home educate independently and choose what is best for our children.
